NEW COMPUTERISED SYSTEM

From the end of October 2023 we will be moving to a new computerised system.  Your process may take a little longer at the beginning.  We're sorry for any delays as we start using our new system and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

GP APPOINTMENTS

TO HELP REDUCE THE POTENTIAL SPREAD OF INFECTION, WE ARE OPERATING A TELEPHONE TRIAGE APPOINTMENT SYSTEM. IF YOU REQUIRE MEDICAL ADVICE WE ARE ADVISING  PATIENTS TO PHONE AT 8.30AM.  You will be put through to one of our receptionists.  Please give a brief summary of the reason why you are contacting the surgery.  We will then decide on the most appropriate person and best method to contact you.

IF YOU NEED A REPEAT PRESCRIPTION, PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE ON OUR SCRIPT LINE ALONG WITH THE NAME OF THE CHEMIST YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR PRESCRIPTION TO BE SENT TO.  PLEASE ALLOW 48 HOURS FOR REPEAT SCRIPTS.

Welcome to Loy Medical Centre

This family practice was established in 1946 prior to the inception of the Health Service in premises at Orritor Street by Dr Des Flanigan. He was subsequently joined by Dr John Flanigan at James Street in 1953. Dr Des emigrated to New Zealand in 1963 and the practice was maintained single-handedly by Dr John, who moved to the Health Centre in 1974, where he was  joined by Dr Paul Flanigan in August1987.

The practice was transferred to the present premises in November 1990, where Dr Paul Flanigan was joined by Dr Gabrielle Mc Keever in 1995, Dr Rosalyn Hutton in 2015 and Dr Stuart Davidson in 2018.
